Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Pingik app collects, why, who helps us run it, and the choices you have. It covers the Pingik app for iPhone and Android and this website.

Who we are

Pingik is a voice-first task and reminder app. In this policy, “Pingik”, “we” and “us” mean the operator of the app.

What we collect

Your tasks. The tasks, notes and lists you create, with their dates, times, reminders and repeat rules. They are stored on your phone and, once the app has a session with our server (as a guest or signed in), synced to it so they can be restored and used on your other devices.

What you say to Pingik. When you use voice-to-task, your phone’s own speech recognition (provided by Apple or Google) turns your speech into text. Depending on your phone and its settings, Apple or Google may process the audio to do this, under their own privacy terms. Pingik never stores or uploads recordings: no audio is sent to us. The text (the transcript) is sent to our server to find the date, time and repeat rule, and is kept with the task as its source text.

Your account. If you sign in, your email address, or the identifier Apple or Google gives us when you sign in with them, and your name if Apple or Google shares it. You can also use Pingik as a guest without giving us any of these.

Your settings. Your time zone, language, speech language and preferences such as your default reminder and list.

Subscriptions. Which plan you have, which store you bought it from, its status and renewal dates, and the store’s transaction identifiers. Payment is handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card details.

Crash reports. If the app crashes, a report with technical details (device model, OS and app version, the error) may be sent to our crash-reporting provider. Reports are linked only to a random account identifier, never to your name or email, and they do not include your task text or screenshots.

How the app is used. The app counts which screens are opened and when a task is created or completed, using Google Analytics for Firebase, so we can see which features are used and where the app needs work. This comes with basic device and app details (device model, OS and app version, country, a random app-install identifier). It is linked only to a random account identifier, never to your name or email, and never includes your task text or what you say. It runs without your phone’s advertising identifier and is not used for advertising.

What we don’t collect. No audio recordings, no location, no contacts, no health data and no advertising identifier. We don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we don’t sell your data.

Why we use it

• To run the app: save, sync and remind you about your tasks, and turn what you say into a task.
• To manage your account and sign-in.
• To check and apply your subscription.
• To find and fix crashes.
• To understand which features are used, so we can improve the app.

We do not use your tasks or transcripts for advertising.

Who helps us run Pingik

We share data only with providers that process it for us, under our instructions:

• Our hosting provider, which runs our servers and database.

• Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases and notification delivery on iPhone.
• Google — Google sign-in, Google Play purchases and notification delivery on Android, and Google Analytics for Firebase (app usage analytics, on iPhone and Android).
• Our email provider, which sends sign-in codes when you continue with email.
• Sentry, which receives crash reports.
• OpenAI, only for Pingik Pro subscribers: the transcript text (never audio) of each voice task is sent to OpenAI’s AI model to read the task’s details. OpenAI does not use data sent through its API to train its models.

How long we keep it

• Your account and tasks are kept while you use Pingik.
• When you delete your account, you are signed out on every device straight away and your email and sign-in identifiers are removed. Your tasks, lists and the rest of your account are permanently erased within 30 days.
• Guest accounts that haven’t been used for 90 days and have no subscription are closed and then erased in the same way.
• Sync records your devices use to stay up to date are cleared automatically after a short period.
• Purchase records may be kept longer where the law requires it.

Your choices and rights

• Edit or delete tasks at any time in the app.
• Delete your account in the app: Settings → Delete account. If you no longer have the app, see Delete your account.
• Notifications and microphone can be turned off in your phone’s settings at any time.
• Cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, export or erase your data, or to object to or restrict how we use it. Email [email protected] and we’ll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Pingik is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Security

Data travels between the app and our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Sign-in tokens are stored in your phone’s secure storage.

This website

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the version date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
